The Gospel of John: Expository Sermon #51
Passage: John 13:21-30절
Sermon Notes & Reflection Guide
1. Listening to the Word
- (As you listen to the sermon, freely write down any words, phrases, or insights that speak to your heart.)
2. Questions for Understanding the Passage
- In verse 21, what was the ultimate reason Jesus was “troubled in spirit”? Was it anger over betrayal, or deep sorrow over a lost soul?
- In Jewish culture, what did it mean for a host to dip a piece of bread and give it to someone? In what way did this act become an “opportunity” for Judas?
- Did Satan enter Judas because of the bread Jesus gave him, or because of Judas’s own choice? (Reflection on verse 27)
3. Questions for Application
- In my life, am I welcoming Satan’s temptations—such as greed, jealousy, or pride—more than the voice of the Holy Spirit?
- What is the “thirty pieces of silver” in my life right now—the value of this world that tempts me? Am I ready to let it go and take hold of the Lord’s hand?
- What has been the “piece of bread of love” (an opportunity to repent) that the Lord has recently extended to me? How did I respond?
4. Sharing Together
- Just as we greet one another by saying, “Brother, sister, you look so joyful today!” let us share a word of blessing this week that reflects the light of Christ to those we meet.
Pray
- Lord, as we remember Your sorrowful tears, help us to turn decisively away from the temptation of sin.
- May we surrender the sovereignty of our hearts entirely to the Holy Spirit and live each moment welcoming You.
- Let our families and our church choose Your light, not the night of this world.
